We love Harwell Campus!

Wave Staffing at Harwell Campus: Supporting a Year of Discovery
From immersive experiences to conversations shaping the future of science, 2026 has brought a varied programme of events to Harwell Campus.
For Wave Staffing, it has been an opportunity to support the people and occasions bringing that programme to life.
Our work at Harwell this year has included Luminarium and the BioForward 2026 conference, with the forthcoming ENGINE Summit next on the calendar. Three different events, with different audiences, but a shared focus: creating a welcoming, professional experience that allows visitors, delegates and organisers to concentrate on the occasion.
Luminarium: Light, Colour and Community
Taking place from 29 May to 2 June, Luminarium: Terceradix brought an extraordinary walk-through installation to Harwell as part of the campus’s 80th birthday celebrations. Created by Architects of Air, its inflatable tunnels, domes and chambers used natural daylight to surround visitors with colour.
For Wave Staffing, being involved in Luminarium meant supporting an event with a distinctly different atmosphere from a corporate conference. This was about discovery, curiosity and an experience designed for people of all ages.
It also reflected another side of Harwell: a campus that connects with its wider community through culture and shared experiences, alongside its scientific work. We were pleased to play a part in an occasion that invited visitors to explore somewhere—and something—out of the ordinary.
BioForward 2026: Bringing People Together
September brought a different kind of gathering. BioForward 2026, held on 29 September, connected the life sciences research and development community with specialist service providers for a day of networking, insight and collaboration.
For an event built around making connections, the experience surrounding those conversations matters. A professional welcome, an approachable team and a coordinated approach help create the right environment for delegates to focus on the people they have come to meet.
Our involvement in BioForward added another dimension to Wave’s work at Harwell this year, moving from a public-facing cultural experience to a specialist business event. That variety is an important part of our approach: understanding the occasion and adapting to its audience, rather than treating every event in the same way.
Looking Ahead to ENGINE Summit
Next, we are looking forward to supporting the ENGINE Summit on 8 October 2026 at CO:LABS, Harwell’s new building for collaboration across science, technology and innovation.
The summit will bring together industry, academia, investors and the public sector to explore advanced research and development. Its programme includes keynote perspectives, talks, panels, demonstrations and one-to-one partnering, followed by an evening reception celebrating the opening of CO:LABS.
For Wave Staffing, it is an opportunity to contribute to another significant occasion on campus—one that combines knowledge-sharing, relationship-building and celebration.
We look forward to working alongside the event team and bringing the same friendly, professional approach that underpins our work across Oxfordshire.
Different Events, One Consistent Approach
Our work at Harwell in 2026 illustrates the variety of occasions Wave Staffing can support: community experiences, specialist conferences and business gatherings.
We work alongside organisers, venue teams and caterers, with clear roles and a shared understanding of the brief.
As an Oxford-based business supporting events across Oxfordshire and the Cotswolds, Wave combine local knowledge with an approach shaped around each client’s plans.
Wave are proud to be part of Harwell’s event programme this year and look forward to the forthcoming ENGINE Summit.
